“Win” Award:

The Win Award (formerly the Spirit Award) is an honor given to the player that demonstrates the most spirit during the course of the Lions/ADPRO Sport All-Star High School Football Game. The award is named in honor of Marine Lance Corporal Tim Serwinowski. Tim’s life was tragically cut short when he fell to a sniper’s bullet in the Holmand Province in Afghanistan on June 21, 2010. Tim was a 2007 graduate of North Tonawanda High School and a four year player in their football program. The N.T. coaches gave him the nickname “Win” due to his extreme hard work on and off the playing field. The “Win Award” is presented annually on behalf of the Kensington Lions/ADPRO Sports Western New York All-Star High School Football Classic and is presented by the Illio DiPaolo Scholarshop Fund.

The “Win” Award honors a player from each team who has impressed the coaches during the 12 day training camp. The players should possess the following qualities: a positive and high-spirited attitude, team work, dependability, together with the ability to impart a winning attitude on his teammates. These personal characteristics were possessed by Marine Lance Corporal Tim Serwinowski.
